| The Philadelphia Chapters of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Association of Career Professionals International have collaborated to create the Career Management Forum, an opportunity for SHRM members and potential members to network and discuss career issues. This unique program was launched in November 1998 and welcomes new attendees as well as those who attend regularly.
Here is what you can expect from this benefit:
- Human Resource professionals and college students majoring in Human Resources meet to hear an informative presentation followed by lively discussion.
- Career management experts from ACP International serve as Forum speakers and provide expertise during the discussions.
- Participants share an interest in proactively managing their careers. They report leaving the Forum energized and pleased to have connected with others in their field.
- Job leads and contacts are exchanged as some Forum attendees are searching for new positions.
Recent topics have included Building Political Savvy, The Implications of a Multicultural & Multigenerational Workforce for Organizations, Online Job Search and Marketing Strategies Initiating and Building Your Professional and Job Search Network andCreating “Yes and” Rather Than “Yes but” Conversations. Some of our programs are approved for 1 recertification credit hour through HRCI.
Career transition firms and SHRM members’ companies generously host these free evening meetings in Philadelphia. All programs are held from 5:30pm -7:00pm; dates vary. Seating is limited, so reserving your seat is required by completing the Online Registration Form and clicking on the Career Management Forum Program you would like to attend. A completed online registration form must be submitted.
