Topic:
Understanding the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) and its Impact on the Workplace

This session will explore the new landscape now facing employers in understanding and applying the expanded definition of “disability” under the ADA.  In passing the ADAAA, Congress chose to overturn specific United States Supreme Court ADA decisions and interpretations, thereby expanding protections for disabled employees and limiting employer defenses.  We will address how old assumptions must change in order to ensure compliance with the ADAAA and limit employer liability.
